Organizations spend a lot of money to develop leaders and still they lose a lot of money due to poor leadership. According to a Gallup estimate, “the cost of poor management approaches $7 trillion — or 9% to 10% of the world’s GDP.” This is money lost due to poorly performing teams, disengaged or burnt out employees, and attrition.
The pandemic and subsequent “Great Resignation” highlighted this fact, as as people realized they don’t have to tolerate unsuitable working conditions any longer and benefited from record high job openings.
